The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), will conduct the first national survey on ICT focusing women and girls in the country. Second level training will be conducted on 17- 21 January 2022 while enumeration period will be on 31 January to 26 February 2022.
The Women and Information Communications Technology (WIDI), aims to gather baseline data on women and girls on their ICT access, use and skills. Information to be generated for this survey will be used by the government to craft appropriate ICT-based policies and programs on women and girls.
A total of thirty four (34) barangays with three hundred ninety (390) households province wide will be the sample of the said survey. The conduct of the WIDI Survey that will utilize android tablets in data collection will allow the PSA to take a big step into an IT-driven tool to significantly reduce time for data processing. Two Statistical Researchers will be involved in the data collection activity.
Moreover, the PSA assures its respondents that all information collected from them shall be kept strictly confidential. Section 26 of Republic Act 10625 stipulates that individual data furnished by the respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys and censuses of the PSA shall be considered as privileged information and such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding. The PSA may release data gathered from surveys and censuses only in the form of summaries or statistical tables, in which no reference to an individual, corporation, association, partnership, institution or business enterprise shall appear.
