Promotion of Event - ESTADISTIKA 2019 (23 February 2018)

The UPLB Statistical Society (UPLB STATS) is a duly recognized academic organization exclusively for Statistics majors in the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Being significantly different since 1980, the organization has devoted itself to its goals of advancing and promoting proper application of Statistics in all fields of learning endeavors. Though an academic organization, UPLB STATS does not set its limit in developing academic excellence among its members.

Consumer Price Index for all Income Households in Bicol Region: December 2018

PRICE SITUATION: YEAR-ON-YEAR
 
The Bicol Region’s inflation rate in December 2018 slowed down to 7.0 percent.
Compared to the 1.6 percent inflation rate in the same period last year, the December 2018
rate was still higher by 5.4 percentage points.
The movement was attributed to the Inflation Rate by two Commodity/Service
groups; Recreation and Culture (from 3.1 percent to 3.3 percent) and Restaurants and
Miscellaneous Goods and Services (from 5.9 percent to 6.0 percent).

PRICE SITUATION: YEAR-ON-YEAR
 
The Bicol Region’s inflation rate in June 2018 went up to 6.9 percent. Compared to
the 0.9 percent inflation rate in the same period last year, the June 2018 rate was higher by
6.0 percentage points.
The increase was attributed to the Inflation Rate by the Food and Non-Alcoholic
Beverages (from 9.1 percent to 9.6 percent), Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (from 16.6

The Bicol Region’s inflation rate in May 2018 went up to 6.4 percent. Compared to
the 1.2 percent inflation rate in the same period last year, the May 2018 rate was higher by
5.2 percentage points.

PSA RSSO V joins the Military-Civic Parade to mark Independence Day Celebration 2018

In line with the celebration of the 120th Anniversary of the proclamation of the Philippine Independence Day, PSA RSSO V participated in the Military-Civic Parade on June 12, 2018. Agencies and offices joined in the said event with the theme “Kalayaan 2018: Pagbabagong Ipinaglaban, Alay sa Masaganang Kinabukasan.”

Ten regular employees together with two Job Order personnel from PSA RSSO V joined in the Fun Run for Earth on June 5, 2018 in celebration of World Environment Day and Philippine Environment Month 2018 with the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution through Management and Engagement.”

 

Themed: Running for Our Lives, Running for the Earth, the fun run was spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Environment Management Bureau V. It was attended by 375 individuals from different organizations including government and non-government agencies.

The Bicol Region’s inflation rate in April 2018 went up to 5.5 percent. Compared to
the 1.9 percent inflation rate in the same period last year, the April 2018 rate was higher by
3.6 percentage points.

Bicol Region's Economy Grows by 5.1 Percent in 2017

The economy of the Bicol region posted a 5.1 percent growth in 2017, albeit slightly slower than
the 5.5 percent growth recorded in 2016 ..
Services and Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing contributed mainly to the growth of the
region in 2017.
Services remained to account the largest share to the region's economy at 57.6 percent
followed by Industry at 22. 7 percent and Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing at 19.6
