Bicol Region's Economy Grows by 5.1 Percent in 2017

The economy of the Bicol region posted a 5.1 percent growth in 2017, albeit slightly slower than
the 5.5 percent growth recorded in 2016 ..
Services and Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing contributed mainly to the growth of the
region in 2017.
Services remained to account the largest share to the region's economy at 57.6 percent
followed by Industry at 22. 7 percent and Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing at 19.6
percent.

PRICE SITUATION: YEAR-ON-YEAR
 
The Bicol Region’s inflation rate in March 2018 went up to 6.4 percent. Compared to
the 4.4 percent inflation rate in the same period last year, the March 2018 rate was higher
by 2.0 percentage points.
The increase was attributed to the Inflation Rate by the Food and Non-Alcoholic
Beverages (from 6.0 percent to 6.6 percent), Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (from 30.1
percent to 30.4 percent), Clothing and Footwear (from 5.1 percent to 5.6 percent),

Annoucement

Effective 2 February 2018, the new fees for request of the following civil registry documents shall be:
 
PHP155.00 per copy for issuance of birth, marriage and authentication
PHP210.00 per copy for CENOMAR/CEMAR
 
Request for copy made before 2 February 2018 but paid on/after 2 February 2018 shall be subject to the new fees.

The Bicol Region’s inflation rate in January 2018 went up to 5.4 percent. Compared
to the 3.1 percent inflation rate in the same period last year, the January 2018 rate was
higher by 2.3 percentage points.
The upsurge was ascribed to the Inflation Rate by the Alcoholic Beverages and
Tobacco (from 6.2 percent to 23.6 percent). Likewise, the increase was also noted in almost

PRICE SITUATION: YEAR-ON-YEAR
 
The Bicol Region’s inflation rate in December 2017 went down to 4.0 percent. Compared to the 3.2 percent inflation rate in the same period last year, the December 2017 rate was higher by 0.8 percentage points.
The decrement was mainly attributed to the Inflation Rate by the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages group (from 5.8 percent to 5.0 percent).
