The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Sorsogon Provincial Statistical Office is currently conducting the April 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and Tourism Survey from April 8, 2025 to April 30, 2025 in selected barangays and sample households across the province.
In preparation for this nationwide statistical activity, the PSA Sorsogon conducted the 3rd Level Training for six (6) Statistical Researchers from April 1 to 4, 2025. The training aimed at equipping field personnel with the knowledge, tools, and interviewing techniques to ensure the accurate collection of data.
The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is a nationwide household-based survey conducted to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. It provides essential statistics on key labor market indicators such as labor force participation rate, employment and unemployment rates, hours worked, and previous employment of jobseekers. These indicators help guide policy makers, planners, and researchers in the development of employment-related policies and programs.
Meanwhile, the Tourism Survey aims to collect information that highlights the significance of tourism as a driver of economic growth and job creation. With tourism playing a vital role in the country’s economy, more detailed data on tourism employment is crucial to support planning and development in the sector.
The PSA urges all selected respondents to extend their cooperation by providing truthful and complete responses. All collected data are strictly confidential and will be used solely for statistical purposes, in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and Republic Act No. 10625 (Philippine Statistical Act of 2013).
