The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will conduct the June 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) on 09-27 June 2025. In the province of Catanduanes, two (2) Statistical Researchers were hired and trained to enumerate ninety-six (96) sample households from nine (9) sample barangays in the province.

The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is a nationwide survey of households to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. This monthly household survey measures the country's current labor market and is used, among other things, to calculate national and provincial employment and unemployment rates.

The result of the April 2025 LFS shows that the country reported an employment rate of 95.93% which is lower compared to the reported employment rate of 96.13% in March 2025. The unemployment rate was reported at 4.07% which is higher compared to the reported a month ago of 3.87%. Likewise, the underemployment rate increased by 1.17% from 13.40% in March 2025 to 14.57% in April 2025. The labor force participation rate (LFPR) in April 2025 was placed at 63.74% equivalent to 50.74 million Filipinos aged 15 years old and over who were in the labor force, or those who were either employed or unemployed.

The success of the survey depends highly on the quality of data that will be collected. PSA assures its respondents that all information collected from them shall be kept strictly confidential. Section 26 of Republic Act 10625 stipulates that individual data furnished by the respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses of the PSA shall be considered privileged information and such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding. The PSA may release data gathered from surveys and censuses only in the form of summaries or statistical tables, which no reference to an individual, corporation, association, partnership, institution, or business enterprise shall appear.
