The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Catanduanes shared key updates on the ongoing validation of the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) and its other essential services during the radio program Ugnayan sa PIA on 06 December 2024. The program, hosted by PIA Catanduanes Manager Edna Bagadiong, featured Chief Statistical Specialist Anavi F. Camacho and Information Officer I Gladys Rima as resource speakers.

As of this week, PSA enumerators have made significant progress in collecting data from households across all municipalities in Catanduanes. However, the PSA urges residents who have not yet been interviewed or counted to cooperate or report directly to PSA provincial office to ensure their inclusion. CSS Anavi Camacho explained the importance of this validation process to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data, which will be used to guide government policies, programs, and local development efforts. "We appeal to every Catandunganon to participate actively in this census. Your cooperation is essential in ensuring that no one is left behind in the development of our province," said Chief Statistical Specialist Anavi F. Camacho.

In addition, PSA reminded residents about the ongoing registration for National ID, which now includes children below one year old. Parents or guardians must present the child’s birth certificate and the PhilSys Card Number (PCN) of the parent or guardian for registration. To date, over 260 thousand Catandunganons have registered for the National ID, representing 92.6% of the province's population. PSA encourages the remaining unregistered individuals to take advantage of this opportunity to obtain their National ID, which simplifies access to government services and other transactions.

CSS Camacho reiterated the importance of public cooperation in all PSA initiatives, from census validation, to other surveys, to National ID and civil registration. For inquiries or to report any household that may not yet have been included in the census, the public is encouraged to contact PSA Catanduanes office at 0920- 968-1179 or visit their official social media page.
