The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Catanduanes leads the conduct of the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) Household Profile Questionnaire data collection. Over 200 dedicated individuals, including enumerators, team supervisors, and census area supervisors, have been actively engaged in this undertaking. Actual data collection started on 15 July 2024 and will last up to 15 September 2024.
In conjunction with the start of data collection, PSA Catanduanes conducted a two-day roadshow in selected barangays across municipalities in the province to raise awareness and provide essential information about the census process. This initiative aims to ensure comprehensive community participation and support. Additionally, PSA Catanduanes initiated an outreach program to all participants of the roadshow.
Among the data to be collected are demographic, socio-economic, housing characteristics and health related data, which will be used in evidence-based planning and project implementation. Additionally, the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS will update the population statistics at the local and national level and the social registries for beneficiary targeting.
PSA Catanduanes emphasizes the importance of cooperation and support from all the households. In accordance with Section 26 of Republic Act 10625, the PSA assure the respondents that the gathered information will be handled with the highest level of confidentiality. Participation in the census is crucial to achieving accurate and reliable data that will benefit the entire community.
