To prepare for upcoming field operations of 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) and Mid-Decade Census of Population, the City CBMS Coordinating Board (CCCB) of Ligao City, Albay was convened last 25 January 2024 at the Office of the Mayor Conference Hall, Ligao City, Albay. Hon. Fernando V. Gonzales, the City Mayor, as well as heads or
designated representatives of several Local Government Unit (LGU) offices, representatives from the Department of Education, Sangguniang Panglungsod, Association of Barangay Captains, Philippine National Police, and other partner stakeholders were present, along with PSA Albay personnel were the participants in the said meeting.
The discussion focused on several key points, including the objectives of CBMS, scope and coverage of the 2024 CBMS, legal bases, roles and responsibilities of the members of the CCCB. Senior Statistical Specialist Lea R. Toledo sought the support that can be provided by the members of the board.
The 2024 CBMS aims to update the social registries of national government agencies and to collect data to capture several factors that can be used for multi-dimensional poverty analysis, policy formulation, poverty alleviation, and economic development in cities and municipalities across the country. CCCBs will be in charge of managing the CBMS activities in their respective areas, making sure that all necessary logistics and other requirements are in place before and during the CBMS operations, and handling any problems that arise during the CBMS operations under their jurisdiction.
