The Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) of Masbate successfully convened its first quarterly meeting on March 12, 2025, at B@ms Restobar, City of Masbate. The gathering brought together 17 key committee members and representatives from various national and provincial government sectors, totaling 21 attendees.
Under the leadership of PSC Chairman Arch. Roberto S. Leyco, the meeting tackled a comprehensive agenda, including the approval of the previous meeting's minutes, the 2024 accomplishment report, and updates on Executive Order No. 4, Series of 2023. The committee also discussed the policy agenda and work program for 2025, as well as significant updates on the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN CBMS) Activities, National ID concerns, and the 2024 Provincial Product Accounts.
Senior Statistical Specialist Jodel Aseboque provided insights on the POPCEN CBMS Activities, while Registration Officer II Johannes Albao discussed National ID updates. Statistical Analyst Grace Ann Dumalag presented the 2024 Provincial Product Accounts, which serve as a crucial mechanism for measuring the province's economic performance using the Gross Domestic Product.
The meeting concluded with a recommendation to organize a Statistics Workshop, aimed at familiarizing new committee members with key concepts and fostering enhanced collaboration among all members. This initiative demonstrates the PSC's commitment to promoting statistical awareness and excellence in Masbate.
