The Municipal CBMS Coordinating Board (MCCB) of Jovellar, Albay conducted its first convening on 15 January 2024, at the Municipal Conference Hall of Jovellar, Albay. The participants of the meeting were the heads or designated representatives of various offices within the municipal Local Government Unit (LGU) headed by the local chief executive, Hon. Jorem L. Arcangel. Also present were representatives from the Sangguniang Bayan, Association of Barangay Captains, Philippine National Police, Department of Education, and other partner stakeholders.
Ms. Lea R. Toledo, Senior Statistical Specialist of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Albay, represented the PSA who serves as the Co-Chairperson of the committee. Mr. Joey Jayson M. Retumban, Statistical Specialist II for CBMS of PSA-Albay, was also present during the said activity.
The 2024 CBMS aims to update the social registries of national government agencies and to collect data to capture several factors that can be used for multi-dimensional poverty analysis, policy formulation, poverty alleviation, and economic development in cities and municipalities across the country. MCCBs will be in charge of managing the CBMS activities in their respective areas, making sure that all necessary logistics and other requirements are in place before and during the CBMS operations, and handling any problems that arise during the CBMS operations under their jurisdiction.
