PSA Albay convened the Community-Based Monitoring System Coordinating Board (CCB) in the province. The Provincial CBMS Board was created to ensure smooth CBMS operation as stipulated in CBMS Resolution No. 6, series of 2021.
The Provincial CCB was organized and held its first meeting on January 26, 2024, at SP Session Hall, Capitol Building, Legazpi City. The meeting was presided by Acting PPDO Arnol C. Onrubia and participated by representative from NGA provincial offices, DepEd and from various offices in provincial LGUs, Sangguniang Panlalawigan representative, and from private sector. PSA Albay personnel namely CSS Cecil G. Brondial, SSS Cross Doreh L. Lee, SrSS Lea R. Toledo, and SS II Joey Retumban facilitated the said activity.
Highlighted during the meeting are the roles and function of PSA that are stipulated in RA 10625 (Statistical Act of 2013) and CBMS Act or RA 11315. The PSA serves as the lead agency of CBMS undertakings and the LGUs being the collecting authority. Further, the roles and responsibilities of the of the board on CBMS operation in the province were presented. It will be responsible in overseeing the CBMS operation in the province and will resolve any issues concerning CBMS.
CSS Brondial sought the support that can be provided by the members like provision of training venue for enumerators, transportation services and others. In addition, promotional activities, and information dissemination of the 2024 CBMS activities were also solicited.
