In preparation for the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) and Mid-Decade Census of Population, the Municipal CBMS Coordinating Board (MCCB) of Malilipot was convened last 24 January 2024 at the SB Conference Hall, Malilipot, Albay.
Presiding over the meeting was Municipal Mayor Cenon B. Volante. Heads or designated representatives of Local Government Unit (LGU) offices, representatives from the Department of Education, Sangguniang Bayan, Association of Barangay Captains, Philippine National Police, and partner stakeholders, alongside with PSA personnel were present during the meeting.
During the meeting, the board tackled the objectives of CBMS, its scope and coverage, including the roles and responsibilities of the members of the MCCB. Senior Statistical Specialist Lea R. Toledo gave emphasis on the possible assistance of MCCB members for the successful conduct of the undertaking.
The 2024 CBMS aims to update the social registries of national government agencies and to collect data to capture several factors that can be used for multi-dimensional poverty analysis, policy formulation, poverty alleviation, and economic development in cities and municipalities across the country. MCCBs will be in charge of managing the CBMS activities in their respective areas, making sure that all necessary logistics and other requirements are in place before and during the CBMS operations, and handling any problems that arise during the CBMS operations under their jurisdiction.
