Last 23 January 2024, The Municipal CBMS Coordinating Board (MCCB) of Pio Duran was organized to convene in preparation for the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) and Mid-Decade Census of Population at the 2nd Floor, Legislative Building, Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Pio Duran, Albay. Hon. Alan R. Arandia, the Municipal Mayor presided over the meeting. Present during the meeting were heads or designated representatives of several Local Government Unit (LGU) offices, representatives from the Department of Education, Sangguniang Bayan, Association of Barangay Captains, Philippine National Police, and other stakeholders were present, along with PSA Albay personnel.
Statistical Specialist II Joey Jayson M. Retumban presented the salient features of CBMS. Senior Statistical Specialist Lea R. Toledo discussed the Roles and Responsibilities of the Members of the MCCB and Possible Assistance of the members of the MCCB for the CBMS Operation.
The 2024 CBMS aims to update the social registries of national government agencies and to collect data to capture several factors that can be used for multi-dimensional poverty analysis, policy formulation, poverty alleviation, and economic development in cities and municipalities across the country. MCCBs will be in charge of managing the CBMS activities in their respective areas, making sure that all necessary logistics and other requirements are in place before and during the CBMS operations, and handling any problems that arise during the CBMS operations under their jurisdiction.
