^{Awarding of COLB in SECPA to the beneficiaries of PBRAP on October 10, 2023 at Barangay Napo, Polangui Albay} 

Last October 10, 2023, the Philippine Statistics Authority through its Provincial Statistical Office of Albay in collaboration with Local Government Unit (LGU) of Polangui successfully awarded the first batch of Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) in Security Paper (SECPA) under PhilSys Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP). The said activity was held at the Covered Court of Barangay Napo, Polangui, Albay and it was organized by the Local Civil registry Office (LCRO) of Polangui, Albay. Representatives from LCRO Polangui, PSA RSSO V and PSO Albay spearheaded the awarding ceremony with the support of the barangay officials.

A total of 15 COLB in SECPA was given to the PBRAP beneficiaries, one (1) from Ponso; three (3) from Mendez; eight (8) from Napo; and, three (3) from Balinad, of which, total of ten (10) beneficiaries are senior citizens. The successful awarding is the result of the combined efforts of PSO Albay and LCRO Polangui to strengthen the campaign of improving civil registration and to register a total of 338 unregistered births in the municipality.

The PBRAP, as one of the programs of PSA aims to increase civil registration, especially in Muslim Filipinos and marginalized communities such as those belonging to the Indigenous Peoples and the poorest sector in the country, and to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices. With the presence of Birth Certificate, it will pave the way for them to claim their social benefits and establish legal identity.
