[05 September 2023] Visayas Cluster participants (MIMAROPA Region, Bicol Region, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas and Western Visayas)

The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office V (PSA RSSO V) hosted the Training Workshop on Data to Non-Benchmark Accounts (Visayas Cluster) at Gamboa’s Orchard, Malilipot, Albay on September 5 to 7, 2023. It was spearheaded by the Macroeconomic Accounts Division – Subnational Economic Accounts Division (MAS-SEAD) participated by five (5) regions namely MIMAROPA, Bicol, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and Western Visayas.

This 3-day technical workshop aims to capacitate the PPA Focal Persons in the regions and provinces on the methodologies and estimation processes in generating non-benchmark PPA estimates.

During the workshop, the participants were grouped into four, based on the major data to be used to wit: AFF group, Survey-based group, Admin-based group and public administration group. After the workshop one representative for each group will discuss the workshop output. PSO Albay Assistant Statistician Jonel Marlo Fidelson presented the Survey-based output, PSO Camarines Sur Statistical Analyst Xenia Cantes presented the Admin-based output, PSO Catanduanes Statistical Analyst Maria Loraine Satairapan presented the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing output and PSO Masbate Statistical Analyst Ace Verano presented the Public Administration and Defense.

The upcoming activities of the Provincial Product Accounts are the Finalization of Non-Benchmark Estimates of 16 Pilot Regions on October 9-13, 2023, Writeshop on the Preparation of Data Dissemination Materials on November 13-17, 2023 and Provincial Product Accounts Dissemination Forum on December 11-15, 2023.
