Wholesale selling price refers to the price of commodity transacted in bulk for further resale or processing. The PSA conducts the weekly monitoring on selected commodities to improve the marketing information dissemination not only for policy makers and researchers but also to the public and the private sectors like farmers, various market intermediaries and the consumers. Wholesale price survey is also geared towards increased market transparency so that farmers and agribusinessmen could make better marketing decisions.
In Camarines Norte, wholesale selling prices of rice (Well-Milled and Regular Milled), rootcrops (Sweet Potato and Cassava), copra resecada, and selected marine species (Galunggong, Tamban, Tunsoy, Dilis and Pusit) were collected every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Mercedes Fish Port, Daet Public Market and Labo, Camarines Norte. Price quotations were generated in the form of statistical tables. Respondents are those with permanent stalls or those who regularly do business in the market.
Increase in the price of Well-Milled Rice by 19.93 percent was noted this month at P48.20/kilo from P40.19/kilo, the same with Regular Milled Rice by 22.98 percent at P45.87/kilo from P37.30/kilo during the same period last year.
Cassava’s price decreased by 7.53 percent or at P17.00/kilo from P18.28/kilo the same with sweet potato by 14.26 percent or at P35.00/kilo from P40.82/kilo of the same period last year.
Prices of Dilis increased by 10.45 percent or at P80.00/kilo from P72.43/kilo, 8 percent or P95.60/kilo from P88.52/kilo for Galunggong, 2.1 percent or P150.00/kilo from P146.92/kilo for Squid while decreased by 12.56 percent or at P43.80/kilo from P50.09/kilo for Tamban, of the same period last year. No captured prices for Tunsoy due to its unavailability in the market.
Price of Copra Resecada increased by 6.09 percent for the month of May 2024 at P32.25/kilo from P30.40/kilo of the same period last year.
