Provincial Government of Camarines Sur Coordinating Board Convened for the 2024 Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS)

The Philippine Statistics Authority Provincial Statistics Office (PSO) - Camarines Sur, represented by Supervising Statistical Specialist (Officer-in-Charge) Raul P. Aspe Jr., with Senior Statistical Specialist (SrSS) Jobylin J. Cacho, Statistical Specialist II Romella Fe R. Gasgas and Jobert D. Ronabio (Statistical Specialist II - COSW) in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, convened the Provincial Coordinating Board for the 2024 CBMS and Mid-Decade Census of Population on February 27, 2024.

The meeting started at 1:45 PM with prayer followed by singing of the Philippine National Anthem, Vice-Governer Salvio Patrick Edmund F. Fortuno Jr. presided the meeting on behalf of the Provincial CBMS/Census Coordinating Board (PCCB) Chairman, Governor VIcenzo Renato Luigi R. Villafuerte. Call to Order, determination of quorum through a roll call by secretariat and provisional agenda were approved by the board and meeting was proceeded with the presentation and discussion by OIC Aspe of the objectives of CBMS, background and scope of the 2024 CBMS rollout, legal bases, data privacy and confidentiality of information, Roles and responsibilities and the possible assistance to be provided from the members of the board for the successful conduct of the 2024 CBMS in the province were highlighted. The timetable of activities was also presented.

The CBMS remains committed to protecting individual privacy rights in accordance with Republic Act 10173 and the Data Privacy Act of 2012, which ensures responsible and secure processing of all information acquired during the data collection.

Integrated CBMS and Mid-Decade Census of Population data items were discussed by Jovylin J. Cacho. SrSS of PSA Camarines Sur. She stated the importance of the data items/indicators to be captured in the 2024 CBMS for program planning and initiatives. This will make it easier to identify beneficiaries for social protection programs, undertake in-depth proverty analysis, and prioritize community needs.

Further, queries and concerns on the agenda presented were entertained during the open forum.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 PM by the presiding officer, Vice-Governor Salvio F. Fortuno Jr.
