The Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) took a leap towards inclusivity on February 14, 2024, as Camarines Norte launched its pilot registration for children aged 1-4. As part of the PhilSys Team's continuous efforts to register more Filipinos in PhilSys that aims to provide a foundation for comprehensive identity management from an early age. As of March 2024, a total of 1,599 children aged 1-4 years old were registered.
This pilot program marked a significant step towards ensuring every Filipino, regardless of age, possesses a secure and recognized identification system. Parents and guardians can now register their children at PSO Camarines Norte with just a few documents: Parent/Guardian PhillD/ePhillD and the child's identification card or supporting documents like birth certificates. When the child reaches 5 years old their complete biometric information will be updated including their front-facing photograph, while an Iris scan and fingerprints will be captured.
Moreover, PSA Camarines Norte conducted Step 2 Registration and Authentication during the Family Development Session of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The team successfully Authenticated 14,025 4Ps beneficiaries, while 5,850 individuals were registered and 6,647 ePhillDs were issued during the FDS.
As of March 2024, 496,590 or 94.85% individuals were registered in PhilSys while 252,922 ePhiIIDs were issued to CamNorteños. To ensure the comprehensive coverage of the population, PSA Camarines Norte keeps its efforts by conducting continuous mobile registration and ePhillD distribution. These initiatives are carried out with active partnerships with the Provincial and Local Government Units, NGAs, NGOs, schools, and other private institutions. Likewise, the PhilSys on Wheels, a mobile registration roaming at barangays, remains implemented to boost National Identification Registration.
