The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will conduct the April 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) with rider questions on Tourism on 08-30 April 2025. In the province of Catanduanes, eight (8) Statistical Researchers were hired and trained to enumerate three hundred eighty-seven (387) sample households from twenty-four (24) sample barangays in the province.
The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is a nationwide survey of households to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. This monthly household survey measures the country's current labor market and is used, among other things, to calculate national and provincial employment and unemployment rates.
The rider question on Tourism aims to identify employment in other tourism-related enterprises, gather information on tourism employment on a local level, and determine employment variables such as sex, age, education level, occupation, and employment status.

The result of the February 2025 LFS shows that the country reported an employment rate of 96.20% which is higher compared to the reported employment rate of 95.73% in January 2025. The unemployment rate was reported at 3.80% which is lower compared to the reported a month ago of 4.30%. Likewise, the underemployment rate decreased by 3.24% from 13.34% in January 2025 to 10.10% in February 2025. The labor force participation rate (LFPR) in February 2025 was placed at 64.50% equivalent to 51.09 million Filipinos aged 15 years old and over who were in the labor force, or those who were either employed or unemployed.

The success of the survey depends highly on the quality of data that will be collected. PSA assures its respondents that all information collected from them shall be kept strictly confidential. Section 26 of Republic Act 10625 stipulates that individual data furnished by the respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys, and censuses of the PSA shall be considered privileged information and such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding. The PSA may release data gathered from surveys and censuses only in the form of summaries or statistical tables, in which no reference to an individual, corporation, association, partnership, institution, or business enterprise shall appear.
