PSA Camarines Sur Provincial Statistical Office was recognized as the Top Performing Provincial Statistical Office on Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Registration for December 2023 during the Special Execom Meeting in Manila on January 8, 2024. With the
mission to contribute to the goal of the PSA in registering 83 million Filipinos in the PhilSys by the end of the year 2023, PSA Camarines Sur ramped up their strategies involving the local government units and other relying parties in covering 14,118 unregistered individuals enrolled in PhilSys for the month of December 2023. This is 22.78 percent higher than the previous month’s accomplishments.
With the vision of registering all Camsureños in PhilSys, PSA CamSur opened its door to partnering with different institutions and local government units in the province. A simultaneous registration in primary and secondary schools resulted in the registration of 2,257 students. This is equivalent to 15.97 percent share on the total number of registered individuals for the month of December. A saturation drive was also organized in selected barangays to ensure that all the remaining unregistered residents were registered.
PSA Camarines Sur sustained its partnerships with malls and national government agencies to conduct PhilSys registration and ePhilID issuance. This resulted in the registration of 1,416 individuals and issuance of 963 ePhilIDs before end of 2023.
The implementation of PhilSys-on-Wheels also made an important contribution in the success of PhilSys registration. This approach aims to bring PhilSys services directly to the doorstep of the potential registrants. PhilSys-on-Wheels acknowledges the fact that not all have the accessibility to visit the registration centers to avail themselves of PhilSys services. This initiative successfully led to the registration of 1,048 individuals and the issuance of 415 ePhilIds.
Republic Act 11055 also known as Philippine Identification Systems Act aims to establish a single national identification system to provide a valid proof of identity to all Filipino Citizens and Resident Aliens. PhilSys envision to eliminate the need to present other forms of identification when transacting to government and private sectors and promote seamless delivery of service to improve the efficiency, transparency, and targeted delivery of public and social services.
