The total Other crops production of Sorsogon decreased by 22.28 percent in 4th Quarter 2024 compared to same quarter in 2023. Non-food and industrial crops decreased by 20.07 percent or 5,279.74 metric ton, fruit crops decreased by 38.16 percent or 1,143.51 metric ton and vegetables and root crops by 40.41 percent or 234.46 metric ton.

Figure 1 shows that Sorsogon's total production of Other Crops in 4th 2024. NFICs accounted the largest portion, at 91 percent or 21,030.79 metric tons. It was followed by fruit crops with 8 percent share at 1,852.99 metric ton, and vegetables and root crops with 1 percent or 345.72 metric tons. 

Key Results for Other Crops of Sorsogon Province

Coconut matured displayed 20,875 metric ton in 4th Quarter 2024, which is 20 percent lower than 26,094 metric ton in 4th Quarter 2023. 4th Quarter 2024 production of Coconut young posted 137.05 metric ton from 182.73 metric ton in 4th quarter 2023 which is 25 percent lower. 

Figure 3 registered a decrease in production of banana in 3rd Quarter 2024 as compared to 4th quarter 2023 of different varieties: banana, bungulan by 40 percent from 275.09 metric ton to 165.05 metric ton; banana, lacatan by 40 percent from 102.72 metric ton to 61.63 metric ton; banana, latundan by 25 percent from 256.09 metric ton to 192.06 metric ton and banana, saba by 40 percent from 1,615.31 metric ton to 969.19 metric ton, respectively. 

Figure 4 posted a decrease in production of the following crops: camote or sweet potato by 72.43 % which is 113.56 in 4th Quarter 2024 compared to 4th Quarter 2023 411.84, gabi, taro by 95.89 percent, from 15.66 metric ton in 4th Quarter 2023 to 380.71 metric ton in 4th quarter 2024, jackfruit. young by 95.89 percent, from 945.97 metric ton in 4th Quarter 2023 to 39.14 metric ton in 4th Quarter 2023. On the other hand, there is an increase in cassava production by 97.15 percent from 94.32 metric ton in 4th Quarter 2023 to 185.95 metric ton in 4th quarter 2024.
