Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 642 signed by then President Corazon C. Aquino on September 20, 1990, Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month (NSM), the Philippine Statistics Authority Camarines Norte spearheads the 35th National Statistics Month (NSM), echoing this year’s theme “Advancing Data and Statistics through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation.”
NSM celebration aims to promote, enhance and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society; and elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standard of statistics in the country.
In line with this, various activities are scheduled such as hanging of streamers, Statistical Exhibit, Civil Registration Forum, Participation in 35km PSA Virtual Run, Appreciation Course/Training on Basic Statistics and Distribution of 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Primers and Brochures. Aside from the abovementioned activities, PSA Camarines Norte will take part in the LGU-led Mobile Registrations, National ID Information Dissemination Activities, and Mass weddings in partnership with Local Government Units.
The 35th NSM is highlighted by the conduct of the 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Provincial Elimination by the PSA Camarines Norte will, together with the Provincial Government of Camarines Norte. The quiz particularly assesses the competency and skills of students in statistics as acquired from the secondary education curriculum.
